（1）remind sb. of sth. 提醒某人某事

句式一 not only...but（also）... 不但……而且……

可以连接两个在语法上并列的单词、短语或分句。

【教材原句】

Not only can you post specific questions， but you can also broaden your knowledge by reading posts from other English learners around the world. 你不仅可以发布具体的问题，而且还可以通过阅读来自世界各地其他英语学习者的帖子来拓宽你的知识面。

【要点必记】

（1）Not only A but also B + 谓语动词 + 其他.（谓语动词的单复数由 B 决定，即： 就近原则）；

（2）not only... but also... 连接两个分句且 not only... 位于句首时，not only 后的分句要用部分倒装语序，但 but also 后的分句不倒装，即“前倒后不倒”。

【学法点拨】

类似not only... but also... 连接并列主语， 谓语动词的单复数依据就近原则的结构还有：

neither... nor...

either... or...

not... but...

句式二 　介词+ what 从句

【教材原句】

People say that the British always play safe with what they eat.

人们说英国人对待吃的东西总是很谨慎。

【句式分析】

句中what 引导宾语从句，作介词with 的宾语，意为“所……的事/ 人”，相当于the thing（s）/ the person（s）that...。

My mind wasn’t on what he was saying， so I’m afraid I missed half of it.

我的心思没在他说的话上，恐怕我错过了一半。

【误区警示】

（1）what 引导名词性从句时，what 在 从句中作主语、宾语或表语；而that 引导名词性从句时在从句中只起连接作用，不作任何句子成分。that 在宾语从句中通常省略，但在主语从句、表语从句和同位语从句中均不能省略。

（2）介词后一般不接that引导的宾语从句。

You can depend on that he promised to you. （×）

You can depend on what he promised to you.（√）

你可以指望他允诺你的东西。
