年度水下摄影大赛（Underwater Photographer of the Year Competition，简称 UPY）是英国水下摄影师协会于 2015 年创办的全球性专业摄影赛事，得益于赛事源于布莱顿学派的特技摄影历史以及复兴英国举办大型水下摄影赛事的传统，UPY 从创办之初就是“高开高走”，5 年来大赛征集到的作品数量和质量不断提升，逐渐在水下摄影界立起标杆。

今年 3 月，UPY 揭晓了 2020 年度的获奖名单，大赛共收到了来自全球 70 多个国家摄影师的 5500 余份水下摄影作品，相比于去年增长了 10% 之多。来自法国的摄影师 Greg Lecoeur 从众多同行高质量的专业作品中脱颖而出，最终凭借一幅《Frozen Mobile Home（冰冻的移动家园）》夺得本年度的年度摄影师桂冠。

大赛共分为广角（Wide Angle）、微距（Macro）、残骸（Wrecks）、行为（Behaviour）、肖像（Portrait）、黑白（Black & White）等14个作品组别以及另外一个包含了年度水下摄影师（Underwater Photographer of the Year 2020）、年度最具潜力水下摄影师（Up and coming Underwater Photographer of the Year 2020）等 6 个特别奖的年度荣誉组别。除了荣誉组外，大赛将在每个组别分别评选出一、二、三等奖、最受好评奖和推荐奖。

该作品展示了南极洲的食蟹海豹在水下冰山“上”嬉戏打闹的情境。作为大赛评委的海洋生物学家 Alex Mustard 评论到：“照片中像舞者一样的食蟹海豹和凹凸有别的水下冰山空灵景观，创造出一种震撼的构图，将人的目光吸引到这个鲜有人见的世界角落。这幅照片很多主体都吸引着我，让我仿佛置身于冰冷的南极海洋中。”
