本句為複合句,「Having seen quite a few productions of Hamlet and read the play many times」為現在分詞片語在句中作原因狀語。 until在句中引導時間狀語子句。 until可用作介詞或連詞,意為「到…時候為止,到…時候才」。

(1)until引導時間狀語子句時,主句的謂語動詞是延續性動詞,表示「直到…為止」;

(2)not...until...引導時間狀語子句時,若主句的謂語動詞是終止性動詞,表示「直到…才…」;若主句的謂語動詞是延續性動詞,意為「不到……就……」。
