◆the well-known writer and educator在句中作主詞Helen Keller的同位語,起解釋說明的功能。這裡的writer和educator指的是同一個人,所以只用了一個冠詞。

◆at the age of意為「在…歲時」,of後接基數詞,有時也可省略為「at+基數詞」或「at age+基數詞」。 at(the age of)/at age…可位於句首或句末,在功能上相當於when引導的時間狀語從句。

fall ill意為「生病」,fall用作係動詞,意為「進入(某種狀態)」,其後常接形容詞作表語。
