farthest是far的最高級，表示「最遠的」。形

容詞的最高級表示三者或三者以上的人或

事物的比較。形容詞的最高級前面要加定

冠詞the,句末一般跟一個of (in)介詞片語來

說明比較的範圍。其句型為「A+系動詞+形

容詞的最高級+of/in/…」。

(1)形容詞的最高級前面如果有by far等程度副詞組修飾時，應放在定冠詞the的前面。

She is by far the best of all students in the class.

她是班上最好的學生。

(2)形容詞的最高級前面如果有序數詞修飾時，它應放在定冠詞之後。
