abroad 副詞，意為“在國外，到國外”，其反義詞是at home。

be abroad“出國”，相當於go abroad。如：

She goes abroad every year.

她每年都會到國外去。 I’ve been abroad three times this year.

今年我已經出國三次了。

2. Recently, we have learned about the population of the world.

population 人口，為集合名詞，常被看作一個整體，無複數形式。謂語動詞用單數。表示某國某城市有多少人口時，一般說has a population of ... 或the population of … is …

e.g. The town has a population of 20000. = The population of the town is 20000.

這個城鎮有兩萬人口。

表示人口「多」或「少」時，一般用large或small來表示，而不用many或few。

e.g. China is a country with a large population.

中國是一個人口眾多的國家。

提問有多少人口時，用what而不用how many或how much。

e.g. What’s the population of Shanghai?

上海有多少人?
