invent/ɪn'vent/ v.發明

eg：Who invented the electric light？

誰發明了電燈？

invention意為“發明”，可作可數名詞；

inventor意為“發明家”，是可數名詞。

一語辨別：

Edison，a famous inventor，invented many inventions during his life.

著名的發明家愛迪生在他的一生中發明了許多發明。

able /'eɪbl/ adj. 能，能夠

eg：The child is not able to write yet.

這個孩子還不會寫字。

able與系動詞be構成片語，be able to“能夠”，其後接動詞原形。
