Yang Zirong (1919-1947) was born in Mouping, Shandong. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War in 1945, he joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the Communist Party of China in January 1946, and then entered Northeast China to participate in the suppression of bandits. In March 1946, when the troops arrived at Xingshu Village in Linkou County, Mudanjiang, they entered the village alone and publicized the policies of our party and army to the bandits, forcing all the enemies to surrender and seizing a large amount of weapons and equipment. Yang Zirong's wisdom and bravery were highly praised by the troops, and he was named a combat hero, awarded special merit, and promoted to regimental reconnaissance platoon leader. In January 1947, he was ordered to lead five scouts, disguised as bandits, and entered the bandit's lair. They dealt with the enemy for 10 days and finally captured 13 bandits headed by a mountain eagle alive to eliminate harm to the people. On February 23, 1947, while leading a reconnaissance platoon to participate in the battle to chase down the remaining bandits, he died heroically in Jiapigou.
