— It’s Sally’s.

This is a special interrogative sentence introduced by the interrogative word whose. Whose means "whose" and indicates the relationship of ownership. It can be used alone or in conjunction with a noun in a sentence; its answer uses a noun possessive pronoun or a possessive noun. For example: — Whose T-shirt is this?

= Whose is this T-shirt?

—It’s hers. / It’s Sally’s.

The possessive case of nouns is equivalent to "... of" in Chinese. There are two ways of composition:

1) Generally add ’s after singular nouns. Such as: Jane’s

2) For plural nouns of words ending in s, add ’ directly.

For example: the students’

Noun possessive pronoun = adjective possessive pronoun + noun

My...: mine = my + n.

Yours...: yours = your + n.

His...: his = his + n.

Hers...: hers = her + n.

Its...: its = its + n.

Our...: ours = our + n.

Yours...: yours = your + n.

Their...: theirs = their + n.
