What is the meaning of direct proportional relationship?

Two related quantities, if one quantity changes, the other quantity will also change. If the ratio of the two corresponding numbers in the two quantities is constant, the two quantities are called directly proportional quantities. The relationship between them is called a direct proportional relationship.
