Introduction to A Bing

Music master A Bing, formerly known as Hua Yanjun. When he was in his 20s, he suffered from eye disease and became blind due to poverty and illness. People called him "Blind Man Bing". He often makes a living as a performer in Wuxi and Huishan, carrying a pipa and a portable huqin.

Abing struggled in darkness and poverty for decades. His feelings about the painful life were expressed through music. He did not succumb to his fate because of the hardships of life. He used his life to create immortal works such as "The Moon Reflected in Two Springs".

(1) Understand Abing’s miserable life

Yiku: Soon, he suffered from serious eye disease and had no money for treatment. He eventually became blind. People called him "Blind A Bing." (Blindness in both eyes)

Second hardship: Because of his eye disease, A Bing was forced to leave the Taoist temple and wandered on the streets, begging for food by playing the erhu. (Wandering and begging)

Three hardships: Once, a rich man "invited" A Bing to his home to play the erhu for his old mother-in-law to celebrate her birthday, but A Bing refused. That night, the rich man sent someone to beat A Bing black and blue. (suffering from bullying)

Four Sufferings: It was late autumn, and A Bing lived in a broken thatched hut and was bedridden. From morning to night, except for a few kind-hearted people from poor families who brought him thin porridge and an old country doctor who cooked it for him. After applying medicine to the wound, Abing only had an erhu to accompany him. (It’s hard to be alone)

A Bing has loved nature music since he was a child.

When A Bing practiced erhu, his arms often swelled and hurt, making him unable to sleep all night. His fingers were scratched and painful, but he gritted his teeth and refused to put down the erhu in his hand for a moment.
