Description
"Title on Lin'an Residence" PPT Courseware 3
Lin Sheng (1106-1170), courtesy name Mengping, was from Pingyang (now Zhejiang). Approximately living in the Xiaozong Dynasty (1163~1189), he was a scholar who was good at poetry and prose. One of his poems is recorded in "West Lake Tour Notes". Famous poems include "Inscribed on Lin'an Mansion".
Titled Lin'an Di: A poem written on the wall of Lin'an Hotel.
Question: Write.
Lin'an: The capital of the Southern Song Dynasty, now Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province.
Di: official residence, official residence, hotel, inn. The poem refers to an inn.
Understanding annotations
Stop: Pause, stop, stop.
Warm breeze: warm spring breeze. This not only refers to the wind in nature, but also alludes to the licentious style of people living in the West Lake at that time. (Pun intended)
Tourist: A person who travels. This alludes to the upper-class figures who were seeking pleasure in the Song Dynasty court.
Zhi: Almost, almost.
Bianzhou: Bianliang (now Kaifeng City, Henan Province), the capital of the Northern Song Dynasty, had been occupied by the Jin soldiers at that time.
Drunk: intoxicated.
Outside the Qingshan Tower outside the mountain, when will the singing and dancing in the West Lake stop?
Seize the characteristics of Lin'an City: overlapping green hills, rows of towers and endless singing and dancing, and write about the false prosperity and peace of the year. The poet touches the scene and feels emotional.
It expresses the poet's dissatisfaction and condemnation of the rulers at that time who were living an ignoble existence, intoxicated in singing and dancing all day long, and living in a dream. The poet was so moved by the scene that he couldn't help but sigh: "When will the singing and dancing in West Lake stop?" When will the obscene singing and dancing by the West Lake stop people's fighting spirit against gold?
Use the three words "when will you rest" to ask the rulers: When will the extravagant and licentious life stop? The implication is: When can the cause of resisting gold and restoring the country be started? When can it start?
[Full poem translation]
There are green mountains outside the mountains and tall buildings outside the buildings. When will those tourists in the West Lake stop singing and dancing all day long? The warm wind made the dignitaries who only cared about eating, drinking and having fun look like they were drunk, and they almost regarded Hangzhou as the dead capital of Bianzhou.
The warm wind makes tourists drunk, and they call Hangzhou Bianzhou.
The poet further expresses his feelings. "Warm breeze" is a pun, referring to both the spring breeze in nature and the lustful wind in society. It is this "warm wind" that blows people's minds as if they are drunk. "Tourists" specifically refers to the ruling class of the Southern Song Dynasty who forgot about the national crisis, lived in peace, and had fun.
The words "Xun" and "Drunk" are used very delicately in the poem, vividly depicting the mental state of those dignitaries who indulged in sex and harmed the country and the people.
At the end, "Hangzhou is always referred to as Bianzhou" is a direct rebuke to the rulers of the Southern Song Dynasty for forgetting the hatred of the country and family, and simply treating the temporarily peaceful Hangzhou as their old capital Bianzhou. The bitter satire contains great anger and endless worries.
The poem "Inscribed on Lin'an Residence" describes the beautiful scenery of the West Lake and the ugly behavior of the rulers in the beautiful scenery.
It expresses the poet's great anger towards the ruler and endless worries about the country.
