Description
"Thinking about Peiping" PPT
Part One: Introduction to Lao She
1. life
Lao She (1899~1966) modern and contemporary writer. His original name was Shu Qingchun, with the courtesy name Sheyu, and his pen names were Xu Qing, Honglai, Feiwo, etc. Manchu, native of Beijing.
After graduating from Beijing Normal School in 1918, he served as a primary school principal and a middle school teacher. In 1924, he went to the UK to serve as a Chinese lecturer at the Oriental College of the University of London. In 1926, he joined the Literary Research Society. After returning to China in 1930, he served as professor at Qilu University in Jinan and Shandong University in Qingdao. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, he went south to Hankou and Chongqing. In 1946, he was invited to give lectures in the United States for one year. After expiration, he lived in the United States and engaged in creative writing. He returned to China shortly after the founding of New China and served as Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Writers Association, and Vice Chairman of the Chinese Folk Literature and Art Research Association. He was awarded the title of "People's Artist" for creating the outstanding drama "Longxugou". He died due to persecution in the early days of the "Cultural Revolution".
2. Literary achievements
Most of Lao She's works are based on citizens' lives, opening up important subject areas for modern Chinese literature. The natural scenery, human conditions, customs and fashions he describes, as well as the spoken language he uses, all present a strong "Beijing flavor".
Thinking about Peiping PPT, part 2: Classroom dialogue
Dialogue with the work
1. I love Peking but can’t express it.
2. Reasons to love Peiping
3. Thinking about Peking makes me cry
Conversations with writers
The article is written, why is the title not written as "Writing about Peiping"
"Writing" is just an objective introduction and description, and the emotion is weak. "Think" carries a strong subjective emotion. The word "think" not only points out the distance between the author and Beijing, but also expresses the author's endless and deep love for Beijing.
Thinking about Beiping PPT, the third part: discussion and exchange:
①Which sentences in the article reflect that the author "really misses" Peiping?
The first natural paragraph: "What I know is only "my Peiping", and my Peiping is probably just a drop in the bucket."
In the second paragraph: "However, I really love Peking. This love is almost impossible to say but cannot be said" (?) and compares his love for Peking to a son's love for his mother.
(Supplement: Lao She loved his mother very much. He once said: "I have had at least twenty teachers in my life, but my real teacher, who passed on my character to me, was my mother. My mother was not literate. What she gave me was the education of life.)
The third paragraph "I really want to become a poet, soak all the good things in my own blood, and sing out the splendor of Peking like a cuckoo."
(Supplement: In ancient times, there was a king named Du Yu who was exiled to the mountains. He missed his homeland very much, so he turned into a cuckoo and cried day and night, and cried out blood. He used it here to write about his deep love for his hometown. longing.)
②What are the characteristics of Peiping that the author misses so much?
There is stillness in the movement
Even layout
close to nature
③What writing techniques did the author use when describing the characteristics of Peking?
Contrast techniques, controlling sceneries with emotion
Sentence: Peking to Paris (in terms of feeling and layout)
American paper-wrapped oranges are like Peiping’s frosty jade plums
Extension: Why such contrast? Is it really incomparable?
This is the author's special way to strengthen his love for Peking. This comparison is obviously unfair. What Lao She reveals to us is an unabashed preference. He used this unabashed and stubborn preference to express his deep affection for Peking. Because it is "my Peiping" and "it is in my blood". So, "I" love it, miss it, and even cry when I think about it.
Thinking about Peiping PPT, part 4: Extended Q&A:
"Unable to tell" appears three times in the article. Why can't the author express his love for Peking?
Mr. Lao She "can't tell" - it's not that there is no love, but that this kind of love is too thick and too strong. Love to the extreme is often difficult to express. Just like Shu Ting said in the poem "Missing": Even though there is an ocean in my heart, there are only two tears that flow out.
In the arsenal of human emotions, some can be spoken, sung, and even painted. But some emotions cannot be expressed. Even Liu Yong, although he was talented and had the best poetry in the world, when his friends parted, he just "held hands and looked at each other with tears in his eyes, and was speechless and choked."
