Serving the People PPT, Part 2 Content: Writing Background:
"Serving the People" was a speech delivered by Chairman Mao Zedong at the memorial service of Comrade Zhang Side. At that time, the Anti-Japanese War was in a very difficult stage, and there were many difficulties that needed to be overcome. In response to this situation, Chairman Mao Zedong explained the principles of serving the people and called on everyone to learn from Comrade Zhang Side’s spirit of serving the people completely and thoroughly, unite, and Defeat the Japanese invaders.
Introduction to Zhang Side:
Born in 1915 into a poor peasant family in Sichuan Province.
Joined the Red Army in 1933. Soldiers of the Central Guard Corps of the Communist Party of China.
In 1935, he followed the Red Army out of the base area and began the Long March, and was injured.
In October 1937, Zhang Side joined the Communist Party and was a loyal Communist Party member serving the people.
In 1944, Zhang Side accepted the charcoal-burning job assigned by his superiors. On September 5, he led four soldiers to Ansai County to burn charcoal. At noon, the cave suddenly collapsed. Zhang Side struggled to push his comrades out of the cave, but he was buried in the cave and died. He was 29 years old.
