In his world-famous immortal work "Report from the Gallows", the Czech national hero Vucic profoundly revealed the greatness and insignificance of human beings - the fundamental difference between statues and puppets. Get closer to the author

Vucic, Czech literary critic and writer. Born in Prague into a working class family. Inspired by the October Revolution, he devoted himself to revolutionary activities and joined the Czech Communist Party at the age of 18.

In 1941, Fucik bravely established and led the Second Party Central Committee and served as the editor of the "Red Rights Newspaper". He fearlessly promoted communism and inspired fighting spirit under the white terror.

In April 1942, Fuchik was arrested. In prison, he was tortured and remained steadfast.

On September 8, 1943, Fuchik was killed by Hitler's gangsters in Blochens Prison in Berlin.
