Preparation and rehearsal PPT, part 2: overall perception

The crew members serve as directors, actors and stage managers respectively, and they must perform their respective duties during the rehearsal process.

The director must carefully read the script and related materials, deeply understand the theme of the script, and make an overall design for the performance. Communicate with the actors about their understanding of the characters and help them constantly adjust and improve their performance on stage. You can try writing a director's note to integrate your own thinking.

Actors must memorize their lines and be familiar with relevant stage instructions. Through imagination, enter the role and continuously deepen your understanding of the role you play. Refer to the performance videos of professional actors and imagine your own movements, demeanor, tone, and intonation when performing. Listen to the director and other actors to improve your performance. You can write a rehearsal diary to record your understanding, the process and experience of character creation.

The stage manager should refer to relevant information and combine it with the actual situation to prepare the costumes, props, scenery (can be made into courseware, or you can draw chalk drawings on the blackboard), soundtrack, etc. for the performance. Some scripts do not specify the scenery in detail, so the stage manager can design and sketch it themselves.

Rehearsal Notes

"Zaoer" has only two characters in the whole play: the old man and the boy.
