Part One: Communication Guidance

The content of this oral communication is to share speaking skills around the topic of "persuasion".

There are two tasks: one is to judge whether the persuasion words of the three students in the textbook are appropriate; the other is to practice persuasion in the two situations listed in the textbook.

1. Discuss in groups and express their opinions.

In groups of 3-4 people, first discuss the issue of Task 1 and explain which of the three students’ persuasion is more appropriate and why. Then, from the comparison of the persuasive words of these three students, we summarize the matters that need to be paid attention to in persuasion and the experiences that can be learned from. It must be clear that when persuading others, you must be tactful and not accusatory. At the same time, the content of the persuasion must be reasonable.

2. Be immersive and perform on stage. After discussion in each group, four representatives are selected to perform a performance to see which method of persuasion is easier for the parties to accept. Express yourself clearly and speak accurately and convincingly.

3. Everyone comments and chooses the best one. Criticize each student's tone of voice, reasons for persuasion, expressions, etc. to see if they are appropriate and in place. Then pick the one that says it best.

Persuasion PPT, Part 2: Communication Examples

Task one:

The first classmate's method of persuasion was to directly advise the other party that doing so would hurt others; the second classmate was to directly accuse; the third classmate's persuasion method was more tactful, not only pointing out what was wrong, but also advising the other party that doing so would hurt others. Hurt yourself.

Therefore, the third classmate's persuasion method is more acceptable because she is generous and polite, has sufficient reasons, has a calm and tactful tone, and is considerate of the parties involved. When persuading, pay attention to the tone of your speech to be tactful and not accusatory; think more from other people's perspectives, so that they are more likely to accept it.

Task two:

Scenario 1: Persuading students who violate traffic rules.

Persuasion: Classmates, crossing the road is too dangerous! There are so many vehicles passing by that you may be injured if you are not careful.

Scenario 2: Persuade my cousin not to play games.

Persuasion: Cousin, you should learn to combine work and rest. Play on the computer for a while and then go out to breathe fresh air. This can not only keep your brain awake, play games at a higher level, but also protect your eyesight. How beautiful it is to kill two birds with one stone! Let’s go outside and play together!

Scenario 3: Persuade dad to quit smoking.

Persuasion: Dad, smoking is bad for your health. I hope Dad will always be healthy. You have always been my role model. It will not be difficult for you to quit smoking! Come on, keep an eye on you, Dad!
