About the Author

Jin Bo was born in Beijing in 1935 and his ancestral home is Jixian County, Hebei Province. In 1957, he was admitted to the Chinese Department of Beijing Normal University. While studying, he began to publish works. After graduation, he stayed at the school to teach, successively teaching in the Chinese Department and the Music Department. He is currently a professor at Capital Normal University, a member of the Children's Literature Committee of the Chinese Writers Association, and the director of the Children's Literature Creation Committee of the Beijing Writers Association.

In the past 40 years, more than 40 kinds of poetry, fairy tales, prose, children's literature, literary criticism and poetry and song collections have been published in collections. The anthologies include "Jinbo Children's Poems", "Jinbo Children's Poems", "Jinbo Fairy Tales" and "Jinbo Children's Songs" "Selected Works of Jin Bo" etc. His works won the first, second and third National Outstanding Children's Literature Awards of the Chinese Writers Association, the first and second National Children's Book Awards, the second Bing Xin Children's Book Award for New Works, the fourth Soong Ching Ling Children's Literature Award, etc. In 1992, he was recommended as a candidate for the International Andersen Award.
