Listening Tips

1. Attention to detail

Think about what you are listening for before you listen: numbers, dates, times, addresses, activities, people or places, reasons, etc．

2. Clever interpretation and continuous reading

There are many connected sounds in listening. If you don't know, it is easy to hear unclearly or mishear. The so-called connected sounds mean that the two sounds at the boundary between words are often connected together, and they seem to be connected into a longer sound when pronounced. word. Common reading forms in listening:

(1) Connected reading of consonants and vowels: In a sentence or phrase, when the previous word ends with a consonant and the next word starts with a vowel, the consonants and vowels need to be read together. For example: if I, for a walk, on a winter’s day.
