Part One: Introduction of New Courses

Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up, China has taken on a completely new look: the four great inventions of New China that are praised by others, the great-power diplomacy that is admired by others, and China’s dynamic independent innovation. If we were asked to use an image to describe today's China, energetic young people or beautiful girls would be very appropriate. However, at the beginning of the reform, facing her scars and facing new hopes, what image would she have in people's minds? Today, let us enter Shu Ting's hazy poem "Motherland, My Dear Motherland" and feel the strong patriotism and historical responsibility contained in the poem.

Motherland, my dear motherland PPT, part 2 content: new lesson explanation

Shu Ting, formerly known as Gong Peiyu, was born in Quanzhou, Fujian and is a famous contemporary female poet. He started writing in 1969, when his poems were already circulating among the educated youth. In 1979, he began to officially publish his works in "Poetry Magazine". Won the National Poetry Award twice. In 1982, he published the poetry collections "Brig" and "Selected Lyric Poems of Shu Ting and Gu Cheng". His representative works include "Motherland, My Dear Motherland" and "To the Image Tree".

"To the Oak" is one of the representative works of Mengwu's poetry trend. This poem won the "1979-1980 National Outstanding Poetry Award for Young and Middle-aged People" from the Chinese Writers Association.

Introduction to Misty Poems:

The so-called hazy poetry actually refers to the poetry written by young poets who grew up during the "Cultural Revolution" and were neglected and ridiculed by life. They mostly emphasize the reality of the subject, pursue symbolism and imagery, and contain sentimental sentiments and rebellious spirit.

Representative figures: Bei Dao, Shu Ting, Gu Cheng.

writing background

"Motherland, My Dear Motherland" was published in July 1979. It is a soulful patriotic song. This poem was written in the historical period when our great motherland had just ended the "Ten Years of Catastrophe". The young poet Shu Ting, who had lived through the Ten Years of Catastrophe and had too many ups and downs, was very sad when faced with the deep disaster and the rebirth of the motherland. Naturally, there arises a sense of sorrow and historical responsibility that is sad for personal misfortune and worried about the misfortune of the motherland. At the same time, it is full of confidence and hope for the future of the individual and the motherland.

The poem selects very characteristic images in life, reveals the inseparable flesh-and-blood connection between "I" and the motherland from different angles, expresses the strong desire to love and dedicate oneself to the motherland, and expresses the common aspirations of the youth of that era.

Overall perception - summarizing the main idea of each stanza

Section 1: Looking back at the motherland’s hundreds of years of poverty and backwardness.

Section 2: Write about the people’s pain and hope.

Section 3: Describes the image of the motherland at a historical turning point.

Section 4: Emphasis on the inseparable relationship between "I" and the motherland.

Collaborative inquiry - analyze the content of each section

Analyze the first section

1. How many images does the poet create? What are the differences?

The dilapidated old waterwheel, the blackened miner's lamp, the shriveled ears of rice, the roadbed in disrepair, and the barges on the silt.

2. What is the connection between these images, and what kind of content is written?

They all express the characteristics of the motherland and summarize China's poverty and backwardness.

Emotional tone: deep and sad.

Analysis Section 2

1. What emotions does the poet express in this stanza?

It not only describes the people's pain, but also writes the people's hope.

2. What rhetorical device is used in the sentence "They are the flowers on Feitian's sleeves that have not fallen to the ground for thousands of years"? How to understand it?

It expresses that hope has been too slim for a long time, like the flowers on the flying sleeves, beautiful and attractive, but they have not yet fallen to the ground.

Motherland, my dear motherland PPT, the third part: summary

Shu Ting's poems are novel in conception and rich in lyrical color; their language is exquisite and they have a distinctive personal style.

The whole poem has a heavy sense of history and expresses the pain of hoping for a bright future. It contains both the confused pain and joyful hope of contemporary youth, as well as the daughter's true feelings of dissatisfaction and devotion to her mother Ai Ai.

Students, Shu Ting, a poet who has lived through ten years of catastrophe and has had too many ups and downs, can better understand the inseparable and close relationship between the destiny of the motherland and personal destiny. Facing a motherland that embodies disasters and rebirth, a sense of sorrow for personal misfortune and worry for the misfortune of the motherland will naturally arise. At the same time, there will be a sense of worry and historical responsibility that is full of confidence and hope for the future of the individual and the motherland. "Motherland, My Dear Motherland" is a moving piece of music that expresses the poet's ideas and aspirations.

Loving the motherland and praising the motherland are not only the eternal themes of literature, but also a wonderful song of national rejuvenation. We have reason and confidence to sing louder and brighter.

Motherland, my dear motherland PPT, the fourth part: intensive training

1. In the following appreciation of "Motherland, My Dear Motherland", the inappropriate analysis is ( )

A. This poem was drafted in 1976 and published in 1979. The special historical period gives the poem a special and heavy sense of history. The images in the poem are "confused - thoughtful - boiling", which truly reflects the difficult and tortuous trajectory of the motherland.

B. Looking at the mood of the poem, it first suppresses and then rises, reflecting the mental process of soothing → rapid, low → high. Towards the end of the poem, the poetic mood boils, and the poet's eagerness to devote himself to the motherland spurts out.

C. "You" is used throughout the article to call the motherland. The use of the second person brings the children closer to the motherland. It not only makes it easier for the poet to express his feelings "face to face", but also makes the readers feel that "the motherland" is not an illusory word, but an entity right in front of them.

D. The poet's choice of objects and shaping of images are full of originality and novelty. Old waterwheels, miner's lamps, roadbeds, barges, starting lines, flesh and blood and other things are not noticed by ordinary people, but the poet found beauty in them, and after they were included in the poem, they became more special aesthetic taste.

Answer: D (“Not often noticed by ordinary people” in this item seems abrupt and unclear. Just imagine, if no one pays attention to it, how can the first five objects exist? If it is said that these objects “do not often enter poetry”, it is more appropriate.)

2. Some of the objects described in the poem are continued by the next sentence (such as "the old waterwheel" is "spinning a tired song"), and some are not continued by the next sentence (such as "the withered ears of rice"). Following the example of the text, add a verse after the following verses to make them as consistent as possible with the original poem.

(1)I am a shriveled ear of rice, __________________

(2)I am a roadbed in disrepair, _______________

(3)I am your smile with tears, _______________

(4)I am the germ of the ancient lotus under your snow quilt, __________________

(1) I am a shriveled ear of rice, nourishing your body bent by labor.

(2) I am the roadbed that is in disrepair, carrying you on your bumpy and winding journey.

(3) I am your smile filled with tears, filled with the joy of new life.

(4) I am the germ of the ancient lotus under your snow quilt, revealing the new green that has gone through vicissitudes of life.
