Introduction to Shu Ting
Her original name is Gong Peiyu, a native of Quanzhou, Fujian, born in 1952. In 1969, she went to work in the mountainous area of Western Fujian. In 1972, she returned to Xiamen and worked as a plasterer, sizing worker, car blocker, statistician, commentator, solder worker, etc. From 1971, some of her lyric poems began to be circulated. After the Cultural Revolution, other Poems were published in newspapers and periodicals one after another, attracting attention. In 1981, he was transferred to the Fujian Federation of Literary and Art Circles to engage in professional creation. He is now a member of the Chinese Writers Association and a director of the Fujian Writers Association. In 1982, Shanghai Literature and Art Publishing House published his collection of poems "Brig", which won the first Outstanding New Poetry (Collection of Poetry) Award of the Chinese Writers Association. "Motherland! My Dear Motherland" won the 1981 National Excellent Poetry Award. Main works: "Selected Lyrical Poems of Shu Ting Gucheng", "To the Oak Tree", and prose collection "Heart Smoke".
Shu Ting's poems can be roughly divided into two categories:
One type expresses a generation's brand-new ideas about history, motherland, ideals and love, winning with touching passion, profound thoughts and exquisite and novel images, such as the famous "To the Oak Tree", "My Dear Motherland" "Motherland";
The other type mainly describes one's inner feelings, best wishes to relatives and friends, as well as memories and expectations of love, winning with sincere and euphemistic feelings and meaningful and beautiful artistic conception, such as "Spring Night", "Autumn Night" "Farewell to Friends", "Falling Leaves", "Missing", etc.

"Motherland, My Dear Motherland" is Shu Ting's masterpiece, written in 1979. The suffering of the catastrophe of the "Cultural Revolution" created the confusion, confusion, doubt, and loss of Shu Ting's generation that are characteristic of the times, and also enabled them to express severe thinking, deep introspection, and tenacious pursuit through the refraction of their souls. Shu Ting's poems combine personal sorrow and joy with the fate of the nation and country, combine the perception of reality with the pursuit of ideals, and show a strong spirit of patriotism, a sense of urgency and a sense of historical mission.

Section 1: Looking back on the history of poverty and backwardness in the motherland for hundreds of years.

1. The poet uses dense imagery to recall the long history of poverty and backwardness in the motherland, but his attitude towards this poor and backward motherland is deeply attached.
2. It writes about the inherent hope and endless hope of the suffering people on the land of the motherland, as well as the anxiety that the hope is like a "flying sky" on the sleeves and cannot be realized.
3. With fuller enthusiasm, the poet eulogized the rebirth of the motherland as a crimson dawn, filled with the excitement of a child.
4. The poet is emotionally excited but not irrational. She strives to find the root of this excitement, that is, the cause and effect of her love for the motherland, and then describes her eagerness to devote herself to the motherland.
