PPT about envoys coming to Beijing, part two: interpretation of poems
Envoys coming to Beijing
cen ginseng
The road to the east of my hometown is long and winding.
The tears in the double sleeves and dragon bells will not dry up.
See you soon. No pen or paper.
With the message from you, I can report peace.
[sentence explanation]
It had been many days since I left Chang'an. When I turned back and looked eastward, I felt that the road was long and the sky was covered with dust and smoke. Missing my relatives far away, I couldn't help but shed tears, and the sleeves I wiped were all soaked. Riding on a horse, I met the emissary who was returning to Beijing for business. I had no paper and pen for a while, so I couldn't write a letter. I ask you to send a message home, saying that everything is well with me.
Every time an envoy comes to Beijing PPT, the third part: summary of the main theme
This poem describes a typical scene in which the poet travels to the frontier and encounters an envoy returning to Beijing, carrying a message of safety to comfort his family. It expresses a strong homesickness and at the same time a desire for fame.
Key Appreciation
The first two sentences of this poem say: Looking east to my hometown, the road is too far to see the end, and both sleeves are wet with tears. The poet has been away from Chang'an for many days. It's a long road, and he misses his relatives and hometown more and more intensely. "Dragon Bell" and "Tears Never Dry" vividly depict the poet's affectionate expression of infinite nostalgia. The last two sentences of the poem describe the scene of the encounter: We met on horseback, and I don’t have paper and pen, so I can’t write a letter, so please send me a message home to say you are safe. These two sentences are completely in the hasty tone of the traveler.
Cen Shen went on this trip with the ambition of "getting fame only from horses". At this time, his mood was complicated. The poem not only expresses his tenderness and nostalgia for the imperial capital and hometown, but also expresses the poet's broad and heroic mind, with a pure and timeless charm.
This poem is not artificial, it comes out of the mouth, with sincere emotions, showing rich poetic charm in plain words, deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, and popular among the people.
