annelids

The body of annelids is cylindrical or long and flat, symmetrical from left to right, and composed of many body segments connected front to back. There are about 13,000 species of annelids, including earthworms, lugworms, leeches, etc. They live in seawater, fresh water, soil and terrestrial moist environments, and are widely distributed.

Earthworms live in moist, loose soil rich in organic matter. They burrow in the soil during the day and climb out of the ground at night to feed on organic matter in the soil or plant stems and leaves.
