"Vltava River" PPT courseware 6
Background of "Vltava River"
The Voltava River is a large river in Czech Bohemia. It originates from the Shumaralin Mountains and is formed by the confluence of two tributaries. It flows through forests, fields and ancient castles, past Prague and joins the Elbe near Melnik.
This is a song based on the main melody of the symphonic poem "Vltava River" written by Czech writer Smetana. The melody is beautiful and smooth, expressing the author's infinite love for the Vltava River and his motherland.
Simetana
Bedoich Smetana was born in 1824. He devoted his life to reviving national culture and actively engaged in the creation of national operas. He successively wrote the operas "The Betrayed Bride", "Dalibor", " Ribushe" and other works. Unfortunately, he became deaf in 1874, but continued to create and wrote a large number of works, the most famous of which are the symphonic poem suite "My Motherland" composed of six independent symphonic poems and the First String Quartet "My Life" (1876). Smetana has suffered from deafness since the age of 50, which has led to mental illness. He died in a mental hospital near Prague on May 12, 1884, at the age of sixty.
symphonic poetry
Symphonic poem (symphonic poem), a kind of single-movement symphonic music with a title, was born out of the concert overture in the 19th century (1850), emphasizing poetic and philosophical expression. Symphonic poetry has an eclectic form and is often freely developed based on the principles of sonata form. It is a large-scale orchestral piece based on ideas from literature, painting, historical stories, and folklore. It is one of the main genres of title music. Usually the form of a single movement is adopted, and the structure is relatively free. Sound poems, sound paintings, symphonic fairy tales, etc. are also musical genres similar to symphonic poetry.
