The basic composition of the simple future tense: auxiliary verb is/am /are going to + verb base form.

It is mainly used to express intention or plan to do something, and the subject is a person. like:

She is going to learn Japanese next year.

There is going to be a football match tonight.

How to use be going to

1. The future tense expresses what someone intends or prepares to do or what is about to happen.

My father and I are going to watch Peking Opera this afternoon.

Dad and I are going to see a Beijing opera this afternoon.

We have a meeting today.

We are going to have a meeting today.

I'm going to play the violin.

I’m going to play the violin.

She plans to play the piano.

She’s going to play the piano.

Grammar summary

be going to, with "movement", plan, preparation or intention;

It indicates possibility and necessity, and it can be judged by phenomena.
