Gao Ding lived after the Opium War, around the Xianfeng period (1851-1861). He had little deeds, and most of his poems were out of date with that era. Village Living PPT, part 2 content: Translation of verses:
In the second month of the lunar calendar, the green grass in and around the village has gradually sprouted and grown, and orioles are flying here and there. The willows are covered with long green branches, swaying in the wind, as if gently stroking the embankment. The water vapor that evaporates between the water and vegetation condenses like smoke.
The children in the village hurried home after school and took advantage of the east wind to fly kites into the blue sky.
Village Living PPT, Part 3: Literary Appreciation
The first couplet writes about time and natural scenery. It vividly describes the nature in spring and the unique bright and charming scenery of the countryside in spring. In early spring, in February, the grass grows green buds, and the oriole flies in the sky, singing happily. The long branches of the willow trees beside the embankment gently brushed the ground, as if they were drunkenly swaying in the spring smoke. The four words "The grass grows and the orioles fly" vividly describe the scenery of spring, making the readers feel the atmosphere of revival and prosperity of all things, and the pulse of spring seems to be surging in front of the readers' eyes.
The chin couplet describes the willows in the fields in the village, "brushing" and "drunk", personifying the still willows. The branches are soft and slender, gently brushing the bank. In spring, the sun shines brightly on the earth, the smoke is misty, and the willows sway from side to side in the breeze. The poet used the word "drunk" to bring to life the beauty of the willow; the softness of the willow; the charm of the willow. This is a typical spring scene picture.
Neck couplets and tail couplets describe character activities. It describes a vivid scene of a group of lively children flying kites in the beautiful spring weather. The children got off school early and took advantage of the east wind to fly kites. Children are in the early spring of their lives. Their laughter, laughter and flying kites with great interest make spring more vibrant and energetic. Children, east wind, paper kites, the people and things chosen by the poet add a bit of vitality and hope to the beautiful spring. The last two sentences describe the objects and people in the first two sentences, vividly rendering the charm of early spring.
The poem "Village Living" describes the scene that the poet saw with his own eyes when he lived in the countryside. The poet sketched a vibrant and colorful "Spring Picture". The whole poem is full of life interest and poetic charm. The poet uses the technique of combining movement and stillness to fully reveal the vitality of February in early spring. The writing of this poem is clear and the words are concise. The whole poem is filled with cheerful emotions, and the poet's joy and praise for the coming of spring are revealed between the lines.
