Description
"I Love This Land" PPT Courseware 3
writing background
This poem was written in 1938 after the Anti-Japanese War began. At that time, the Japanese invaders successively occupied vast areas of North China, East China, and South China, wreaking havoc wherever they went in an attempt to destroy the Chinese people's will to resist. At a time when the country was in ruins and the nation was in danger, the poet wrote this impassioned poem full of love for the motherland and hatred for the invaders.
