About the Author

He Luting (1903-1999) composer and music educator. A native of Shaoyang, Hunan. In 1931, he entered the Shanghai National Music College and studied theoretical composition under Huang Zi. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as President of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Musicians Association, Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Honorary Chairman of the Chinese Musicians Association.
