Guan Ju PPT, part 2: Introduction to the work

The Book of Songs is the earliest poetry collection in my country, containing 305 poems from the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Spring and Autumn Period. According to the characteristics of music, it is divided into three parts: "wind", "elegance" and "song".

"Wind" is also called "national style" and is a song from various places. It includes "Zhou Nan", "Zhao Nan" and other fifteen national styles, with a total of 160 articles, most of which are folk songs of the Zhou Dynasty, which are the essence of the "Book of Songs".

"Ya" refers to the elegant music in the Wangji area of the Western Zhou Dynasty. There are 105 chapters in total, which are divided into "Daya" and "Xiaoya". There are 31 chapters in "Daya", which are used for court gatherings of princes; 74 chapters in "Xiaoya", used for banquets with distinguished guests.

"Songs" are dance songs and lyrics used for sacrificial rituals in the ancestral temples of the ruling class, including 31 "Zhou Songs", 4 "Lu Songs", and 5 "Shang Songs", for a total of 40 pieces.

Stylistic knowledge

Ancient style poetry and modern style poetry

Ancient poetry: refers to poetry forms with less metrical restrictions formed before the Tang Dynasty, including four-character, five-character, six-character, and seven-character ancient poetry styles. They generally rhyme, do not pay attention to level, and the number of sentences is not limited. The development trajectory of ancient poetry: The Book of Songs → Songs of the Chu → Han Fu → Han Yuefu → Folk Songs of the Wei, Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties → Jian’an Poetry → Tao Shi and other literati five-character poems → the ancient style and new Yuefu of the Tang Dynasty.

Modern poetry: the new poetry style that emerged in the Sui and Tang Dynasties, including quatrains and rhymed verses. Rhymed poetry usually has 8 lines (more than 8 lines are called rowing or long verse). Rhymed poetry is divided into first couplet, chin couplet, neck couplet and tail couplet. There are 4 quatrains. According to the number of words in each sentence, it can be divided into Wulu, Qilu, Wujue and Qijue. Rhythms are emphasized, while rhymed poetry also pays attention to antithesis. Except for exclusions, the number of sentences is limited. Neat structure, attention to rhyme, and regular rhythm are the biggest characteristics of modern poetry.

Poetry is the earliest literary genre and has completely different characteristics from other genres. It can be summed up in five aspects: lyricism is the most basic characteristic of poetry; poetry typically reflects life through images; poetry expresses thoughts and feelings through artistic conception; classical poetry has the characteristics of conciseness and implicitness; ancient poetry has musical beauty.

Guan Ju PPT, Part 4: Overall Perception

Listen to the text being read aloud, learn new words, and appreciate the melody and beauty of poetry.

Clear the meaning of the text:

Guan Guan Jujiu, in the river island.

A graceful lady, a gentleman is fond of quarrels.

Guanguan Jujiu: The Jujiu dove keeps chirping. Guan Guan, onomatopoeia.

The dove, a water bird, is generally considered to be the osprey.

My Fair Lady: My graceful lady refers to a quiet and beautiful appearance. Shu, beauty, beauty.

Gentleman is a gentleman: Gentleman was a general term for aristocratic men at that time. Good wife, good spouse. Qiu, spouse.

Translation: The dove bird kept chirping and stood on the sandbank in the river. A quiet and beautiful girl is a good spouse for a young man.

These two sentences use Bixing's writing technique, using pairs of doves to symbolize human love. The whole poem is organized under the outline of "A graceful lady, a gentleman loves to fight".

Guan Ju PPT, the fifth part: writing reference

1. Double tone overlapping rhyme.

Use double-voice rhyming couplets to enhance the harmonious beauty of the tone of the poem and the vividness of the description of the characters. For example, "yaoyao" is a double rhyme; "janza" is a double tone; "turns around" is both a double tone and a double rhyme. Various words are used to modify actions, such as "tossing and turning"; to imitate images, such as "fair lady"; to describe scenery, such as "spotted waterweed", all of which are lively, lifelike, and expressive.

2. The even sentences are in rhyme.

This type of even rhyme has dominated the rhyme form of Chinese classical poetry for more than two thousand years. The whole poem changes rhyme three times, and the word "zhi" at the foot of the empty character does not fit into the rhyme, but the preceding character of the empty character is used as the rhyme. This uneven change in rhyme greatly enhances the rhythm and musical beauty of the poem.

3. Rising techniques.

Qixing, as an expression technique often used in the Book of Songs, is to evoke emotions and express interest in events. Generally used at the beginning of a poem, first describe the surrounding scenery in one or two sentences to trigger the following verses. For example, in this poem, the cry of doves reminds people of the love between men and women, which leads to the following poem about pursuing a lady.
