"The Envoy to the Fortress" is selected from Volume 2 of "Wang Wei Collection and Annotations" (Zhonghua Book Company 1997 edition). In the twenty-fifth year of Kaiyuan (737), Cui Xiyi, the deputy envoy of Hexi Jiedu, defeated Tubo. Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty ordered Wang Wei to go to the fortress as a supervisory censor to express condolences and inspect the military situation. This actually pushed Wang Wei out of the court. This poem was written on the way to the border and describes the scenery along the way.

I want to ask about the side of the bicycle, but I belong to the country and live in Yan.
Zheng Peng left Hansai, returned to Yan and entered Hutian.
[Tasting Analysis] "Bicycle" indicates that there are few followers, the standards of etiquette are not high, and there is a hint of frustration. Describing the distance of the journey also expresses the author's mood at this moment.
Poetic meaning: (I) traveled in a light carriage to express condolences to the officers and soldiers guarding the border, and passed by Juyan on the way. Like flying fluffy grass crossing the border fortress, like returning geese flying into the place where the barbarians live.
The desert is solitary and the smoke is straight, the sun is setting over the long river.
When Xiao Guan is waiting to ride, he will always protect Yan Ran.
[Analysis] "Big" expresses the vastness of the border desert; "solitary" expresses the monotony of its scenery; "Sunset" plus the word "round" gives people a warm, warm and boundless feeling. The last two sentences are realistic writing, showing the tense fighting life of the frontier soldiers and also hinting at the frequent wars.
Poetry: In the vast desert, a lone stream of blue smoke rises straight up. At the end of the Yellow River, the setting sun is perfectly round. In Xiaoguan, I met a scout on horseback and learned that the former enemy commander was guarding the Yanran front line.
Let’s fill in the PPT, the third part: text analysis
1. How do you understand the meaning of "Zheng Peng leaves the Han Dynasty, and the returning geese enter the Hu Tian"?
The poet compares himself with "Peng" and "Goose", saying that he flies out of "Hansai" like fluffy grass flying in the wind, and enters "Hu Tian" like a "returning wild goose" flying north, which implicitly writes the poet The anger and depression of being squeezed out of the imperial court.
2. Appreciate the two sentences "The solitary smoke is straight in the desert, and the sun is setting in the long river".
These two sentences vividly describe the strange and magnificent scenery outside the Great Wall. The characters "straight" and "round" not only accurately depict the scene of the desert, but also express the author's deep feelings. It blends emotions into the scenery and blends sadness into the magnificent scenery. It highlights the bleak and difficult living environment of the border soldiers from the side, thereby reflecting their patriotic spirit of not being afraid of hardships and actively defending the border. The vigorous writing power, powerful artistic conception and broad vision fully embody Wang Wei's characteristic of "painting in poetry".
