Description
"Elasticity" Force PPT courseware 5
Give it a try and think about it
Press the spring, pull the rubber band, squeeze the plasticine, and knead the dough with force; after letting go, is there any difference in the deformation of the object?
1. Elasticity:
1. Flexibility:
The property of an object that deforms when a force is applied and returns to its original shape when no force is applied is called elasticity. The deformation that can return to its original shape after the external force is removed is called elastic deformation.
2. Plasticity:
The property that an object deforms when a force is applied and cannot return to its original shape when no force is applied is called plasticity. Deformation that cannot return to its original shape after external force is removed is called plastic deformation.
3. Elastic limit: the maximum amount of deformation when elastic deformation occurs. If the elastic limit is exceeded, the object cannot return to its original shape.
think:
(1) What are the conditions for elasticity to occur?
(2) In what direction does the elastic force point?
(3) What determines the size of the elastic force?
Ask a question
Does the book change its shape? Why? Where did the pressure come from?
Is the table deformed? Why? Where does the support come from?
So tension, pressure, support, etc. are all elastic forces.
(1) Conditions for the generation of elastic force: ① The object undergoes elastic deformation; ② The objects must be in contact with each other.
(2) The direction of elastic force is opposite to the direction of deformation! !
(3) The size of the elastic force is related to the amount of deformation. Within the elastic limit, the greater the amount of deformation, the greater the elastic force.
2. Spring dynamometer
1. Structure: composed of dial, spring, pointer, hook, etc.
What parts does a spring dynamometer consist of?
2. Function: Measuring the size of force
3. Principle: Within the elastic limit, the length of the spring extension is proportional to the tensile force received. The greater the tensile force the spring receives, the longer the spring elongates.
4. Use of spring dynamometer
(1) Before use: Observe the range and graduation value of the spring dynamometer and whether the pointer is aligned with the zero mark. If not, it should be adjusted to zero.
(2) When in use: ① The size of the force to be measured cannot exceed the measuring range. ② Before measuring, gently pull it back and forth several times with your hands to avoid friction between the pointer, spring and housing, which may affect the accuracy of the measurement. ③When measuring, the force direction of the spring dynamometer should be along the axis of the spring. ④When reading, the dynamometer should be kept at rest or in a state of uniform linear motion. The line of sight must be perpendicular to the scale plane.
feedback exercise
Among the following statements about the conditions for the generation of elasticity, which one is correct ( )
A. Objects can produce elastic force even if they are not in contact with each other.
B. As long as two objects are in contact, elastic force will be generated.
C. Only springs can produce elastic force.
D. Elastic force is generated when two objects are in direct contact and squeeze each other to deform.
When using a spring dynamometer, if the pointer starts measuring below the "0" scale, the measured force will be larger than the actual force ( )
A. Same B. Smaller
C. Too big D. Unable to determine
Regarding the use of spring dynamometer, which of the following statements is wrong ( )
A. The spring dynamometer must be placed vertically.
B. Before use, you must check whether the pointer is at the "0" scale.
C. When in use, the spring, pointer, and hook must not rub against the casing.
D. When using, it must be noted that the force measured cannot exceed the measuring range of the spring dynamometer.
