have/has been to + place name means that you have been to a certain place, and can be followed by over, once, twice, three times, just, etc., but it cannot be used with a time period, such as for three days, since last week, etc. When you speak, you are not in the place you have been. have/has gone to means going to a certain place, it means on the way there or has arrived.

He has gone to Los Angeles.

He went to Los Angeles. (The person is not here now.)

have been in means how long you have been in a place, and is often used with a time period. He has been here for two years.

almost almost

Almost is an adverb, usually placed before the substantive verb and after the linking verb, auxiliary verb and modal verb.
