Make crystals

Make some strong solution of table salt, cooking alkali or MSG. Use a dropper to put a few drops on the glass piece. After the water evaporates naturally, use a magnifying glass to observe the traces they leave on the glass piece. What do they look like?

Using a large glass, make a cup of strong salt water. Strain this solution into a clean glass. Suspend a thin thread in the cup, tie a small piece of salt crystal to the lower part of the thread, soak it in the solution, and let it sit for a few days. The first crystals will appear at the bottom of the glass. Filter out the remaining crystals in the solution and continue to immerse the crystals hanging on the thin wire into the filtered solution. The crystals will grow slowly. If the salt solution is continued in the cup, the growth of the crystals will continue for weeks or even months.
