Description
"Composition of Multicellular Organisms" PPT
Part One: Structural Hierarchy of Plants
Several main tissues of plants (review)
The epidermal cells on the surface of roots, stems, and leaves form protective tissue and have the function of protecting the tender internal parts.
Roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds contain a large amount of nutrient tissue. The cell walls of vegetative tissues are thin and the vacuoles are large, which have the function of storing nutrients. The vegetative tissue containing chloroplasts can also perform photosynthesis.
Vessels in stems, leaf veins, root tip mature areas, etc. can transport water and inorganic salts and are conductive tissues.
Longitudinal section of root tip
In mature plants, there are always some undifferentiated cells that maintain the ability to divide throughout their lives. The tissue composed of such a group of cells is called a meristem. For example, the meristematic zone located at the tip of the root, the root tip, belongs to the meristematic tissue.
The cells of the meristem are small, with thin cell walls, large nuclei, and dense cytoplasm. They have a strong ability to divide and can continuously divide to produce new cells, which can then differentiate to form other tissues.
In addition to meristems, the main tissues of plants include protective tissues, vegetative tissues, conductive tissues, etc.
PPT on the composition of multicellular organisms, part 2: different tissues constitute organs
Organ: A structure made up of different tissues gathered together in a certain order and capable of performing certain physiological functions.
plant organs
Vegetative organs: roots, stems and leaves
Reproductive organs: flowers, fruits, seeds
The four major tissues of the human body
epithelial tissue
It is composed of epithelial cells and has functions such as protection and secretion.
muscle tissue
Mainly composed of muscle cells, with contraction and relaxation functions.
nervous tissue
Mainly composed of nerve cells, capable of generating and conducting excitement.
connective tissue
There are many types, bone tissue, blood, etc. are all connective tissues, which have functions such as support, connection, protection, and nutrition.
PPT on the composition of multicellular organisms, part 3: class summary
1. Composition of multicellular plants
Organ: A structure in which different tissues are combined in a certain order to form a certain function.
Green flowering plants vegetative organs (roots, stems, leaves)
Reproductive organs (flowers, fruits, seeds)
Structural levels of green flowering plants: cells, tissues, organs, individuals
2. The composition of the human body
System: Different organs of the human body are combined in a certain order to form a structure with specific physiological functions.
Eight major systems of the human body:
Digestive system, respiratory system, circulatory system, urinary system, reproductive system, motor system, nervous system, endocrine system.
Under the regulation of the nervous system and endocrine system, the human body cooperates closely and coordinates to complete various life activities.
Structural levels of the human body: cells, tissues, organs, systems, individuals
