Part One: The Soviet Union in the Early Postwar Period

The military power was unprecedentedly strong. By 1945, it had an army of 11.4 million people, and its military industry was second only to the United States.

The territorial area was expanded, and some areas of neighboring countries in the west were successively included in the territory of the Soviet Union.

Under the influence and help of the Soviet Union, a series of countries in Eastern Europe and Asia established people's democratic regimes, and the Soviet Union's international prestige increased unprecedentedly.
