Mao Yisheng (1896-1989) was born in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu Province, a famous bridge expert and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

He presided over the design of the Qiantang River Bridge, which is my country's first dual-purpose railway and highway bridge designed and built by the Chinese. He also participated in the construction of the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, the first modern bridge in New China.

Graduated from the Civil Engineering Department of Tangshan Industrial College in 1916.
