Chen Bochui (1906-1997), whose original name was Chen Ruxun, used the pen name Xia Lei. A native of Baoshan District, Shanghai (formerly Baoshan County, Jiangsu Province). Famous Chinese children's literature writer, translator, publisher and educator. He devoted his whole life to the cause of children's literature. He is a master of Chinese children's literature and enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad. He has made outstanding contributions to the cause of Chinese children's literature. His children's literature creation, translation and theoretical research are valuable legacies of Chinese children's literature. He is the author of the collection of fairy tales "A Cat Who Wants to Fly" and the collection of reviews "A Brief Introduction to Children's Literature". The Chen Bochui Gardener Award for Children's Literature was established in 1981 to encourage domestic writers to participate in the creation of children's literature. In 1988, the award was renamed the "Chen Bochui Children's Literature Award". As of 2007, it is the 27th edition.
