"An Apple" PPT Courseware 7
War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea
The Korean War was originally a national civil war between North Korea and South Korea on the Korean peninsula. Later, China, the United States, and other countries that supported North and South Korea respectively were involved in this war to varying degrees. On June 25, 1950, North Korea invaded South Korea without declaring war with the tacit approval of the Soviet Union, and the three-year Korean War broke out. On July 7, the United Nations Security Council passed Resolution 84, dispatching United Nations troops to support South Korea in resisting North Korea's attack. In mid-August, the Korean People's Army drove the South Korean army to a corner of Busan and captured 90% of South Korea's land. On September 15, the United Nations forces (the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands, France, Turkey, Thailand, the Philippines, Greece, Belgium, Colombia, Ethiopia, South Africa, and Luxembourg), dominated by the US military, landed in Incheon and began Massive counterattack. On October 25, the Chinese People's Volunteers went to North Korea at North Korea's request and fought side by side with North Korea. The war fell into an anxious state. On July 10, 1951, the People's Republic of China and North Korea began armistice negotiations with the United States representatives of the United Nations. After many negotiations, the Korean Armistice Agreement was finally signed on July 27, 1953.

Think about what is written in the article, and in what order are the events written?
The six elements of narrative are: time, place, characters, cause, process, and result of the event.
The general order in which narratives are written is:
The order in which things develop, the order in which time passes,
The order of space transformation and the structural order of "Total─Minute─Total"
the order of events
The first part (natural paragraphs 1-3) writes that the frontline transporter picked up an apple and gave it to the company commander.
The second part (natural paragraphs 4-12) writes that no one is willing to eat this apple.
The third part (natural paragraphs 13-15) writes that the soldiers only ate half an apple in total.
The fourth part (paragraph 16) describes how everyone is moved by the "care and love" among their comrades.
Self-study tips:
Read the second part of the text silently, group discussion: Who do you think needs such a precious apple the most among the eight soldiers in the shell-proof cave? Which sentences can we tell?
Compare and talk:
(1) "At this moment, not to mention one, even ten or twenty, I can eat them in one sitting."
(2) "Pass it on one by one in this way, and after going around in a circle, more than half of the apple is left."
It fully demonstrated the fighting camaraderie of comrades caring for each other and being humble to each other.
Little pen practice
"It was extremely quiet in the bomb-proof cave." What were the soldiers thinking? Please use your imagination to imagine the character's psychological activities and write them down.
Think: What does “strong emotion” mean? Why is it called "tears of happiness and pride"?
"Strong feelings" refers to the comradeship of caring for each other and thinking of others.
"I" feel happy to live in a united and loving group full of comrades-in-arms;
"I" am also proud to have such a high-quality comrade who thinks of others wholeheartedly in difficult times.
