Biography:

Republican, American politician, thinker, strategist, and abolitionist of black slavery. The 16th President of the United States. During his term as president, a civil war broke out in the United States, known as the Civil War in history. Lincoln firmly opposed the division of the country. Lincoln defeated the secessionist forces in the South and upheld the rights of all men, regardless of race, to be created equal in the Union of the United States and its territories. On April 14, 1865, shortly after the Civil War, Lincoln was murdered by actor John Wilkes Booth, who was sympathetic to the South, at Ford's Theater in Washington. Lincoln was the first U.S. president to be assassinated and the first Republican president. He has been evaluated as the greatest president many times.
