Characteristics of the troposphere:

1. It is the bottom layer of the atmosphere. The thickness is about 8 kilometers at the poles and increases to 17 to 18 kilometers at the equator.

2. The troposphere concentrates about three-quarters of the earth's atmospheric mass and almost all water vapor and solid impurities.

3. The most striking feature of the troposphere is the strong convective motion.
