About the Author

Buffon (1707-1788), French naturalist and writer in the 18th century. I have been interested in natural science since childhood. In 1739, he was appointed director of the Royal Botanical Gardens of France, and in 1753, he became an academician of the French Academy of Sciences. He devoted his life to natural history research and spent 40 years writing the 36-volume masterpiece "Natural History", which pioneered modern geology.
