About the Forbidden City
The Forbidden City was the imperial palace of China's Ming and Qing dynasties. According to ancient Chinese astrology theory, the Purple Star (the North Star) is located in the mid-heaven, where the Emperor of Heaven resides. Heaven and humans correspond, so the Forbidden City is also called the Forbidden City. After Zhu Di, the third emperor of the Ming Dynasty, seized the throne, he decided to move the capital to Beijing. Construction of the palace began in the fourth year of Yongle (1406) and was completed in the eighteenth year of Yongle (1420). In 1911, the Revolution of 1911 overthrew the Qing Dynasty, China's last feudal monarchy. In 1924, the Qing emperor was expelled from the palace, and in 1925 the Palace Museum was established.
