Question: How many kilograms of waste does the average person produce every day?

Method 1: You can first calculate the number of days in 4 weeks: 7×4=28, and then use 30.8÷28 to find the average amount of garbage generated every day.

Method 2: You can first calculate how many kilograms of garbage are produced every week: 30.8÷4=7.7, and then use 7.7÷7 to find the average amount of garbage produced every day.

This community produces a total of about 3.5 tons of domestic waste from Monday to Friday, and about 1.3 tons of domestic waste every day on weekends. How many more tons of domestic waste does this community process every day on weekends compared with normal times?

1.3-3.5÷5

=1.3-0.7

=0.6(ton)

Answer: This community has to process 0.6 tons more domestic waste every day on weekends.

Summary: The order of operations of the four mixed arithmetic operations on decimals is the same as the order of the four mixed arithmetic operations on integers, and the laws of integer arithmetic also apply to decimals.
