On March 18th, Duan Qirui did not order the shooting of students. After learning of the tragedy, he paused and sighed: "A clear name for a lifetime will be ruined in one day!" In April 1926, Duan Qirui was expelled from power by Feng Yuxiang. Although Duan Qirui was a warlord, he was literate.
