Symphonic sound and picture
Introduction: There is a type of symphony called "music and painting", which mainly describes nature and scenes in life. It is relatively easy to understand and is called "symphonic music and painting".
Concept: "Symphonic sound painting" is a symphonic poem based on painting or describing natural scenery. It can be called "sound painting", "symphonic painting", or "symphonic sound painting". "National symphonic music and painting" refers to the symphonic poems with this theme created by composers of the national music school in the 19th century. For example, "On the Steppes of Central Asia" by the Russian composer Borodin is a genre painting with symphonic music. This is a symphonic poem that describes the scenery of the Kyrgyz steppe and expresses patriotism.
Original form: The original form of "Symphonic Sound Picture", "Symphonic Poetry" is a free-form single-movement title symphony music, and its predecessor is a concert overture. In terms of conception, symphonic poetry may embody a philosophical thought, or embody a poetic artistic conception, or it may be related to a certain literary genre. Symphonic poetry was founded in the mid-19th century by the Hungarian composer Liszt.
Borodin wrote on the score:
On the monotonous, rolling yellow grasslands of Central Asia, the wonderful melody of peaceful Russian songs came, and then the footsteps of horses and camels gradually came in, as well as the tones of ancient and melancholy oriental songs.
Under the protection of the Russian army, a group of indigenous caravans passed through the vast grasslands and deserts, and then slowly disappeared. Russian songs and ancient Eastern songs were harmoniously intertwined, lingering and echoing over the grasslands for a long time, and finally gradually disappearing over the grassland.
Music theme:
One is the first theme representing the Russian army, with a broad breath and the soothing and long style unique to Russian songs. The other theme is the second theme representing the indigenous caravan, which is melodious and charming, with a strong oriental color. At the beginning of the music, the clarinet and French horn blew the first theme one after another, while the continuous overtones of the empty octave played by the violin in the high position showed the vastness and emptiness and loneliness of the grassland.
Then, the oboe played the second theme, and with the original background accompaniment, string pizzicato was added, which sounded like the footsteps of caravan camels and horses. When the band repeatedly developed the two themes in a variety of ways, the structure was greatly expanded and the intensity was greatly strengthened. With the accompaniment of the band, the climax of the music was formed. As the music developed, the two themes changed from a juxtaposed relationship. And for integration, it shows the harmonious relationship between the army and the caravan. Finally, the music gradually returned to calmness and ended with the melodious melody of the flute, indicating that under the escort of the army, the caravan safely passed through the grassland and gradually disappeared.
Musical reviews
The music begins with the first violin and woodwind instruments gently and continuously playing octave overtones in the high range. The colors are condensed and transparent, creating a silent and empty background effect. Against this background, the clarinet and horn play one after another. It represents the theme of Russian songs, and its melody is light, broad, vast and empty.
Then, against the musical background of string instruments playing the footsteps of horses and camels, the British pipes played a smooth, serene and charming melody with an ancient oriental sentiment. Then the clarinet sped up and reproduced a Russian-style tune amidst the sound of the caravan's horses' hooves. This theme gradually increased in intensity through repeated repetitions, until the band played the theme in its entirety, making it appear solemn, grand and majestic.
Afterwards, against the vast background of the grassland and the sound of horse hooves, the oriental tune was repeated many times, leaving a deep impression on people.
Then the author used counterpoint techniques to skillfully put two tunes of different national styles together and play them at the same time, symbolizing the friendly integration of Russian and Eastern national cultures.
After repeated four times, the music gradually weakened, the caravan had gradually moved away, the Russian-style theme and other fragments reappeared intermittently, the music became lighter and lighter, and finally the music ended in silence.
main content
When the music gradually began to play and the crisp camel bells came, it felt like returning to the Silk Road in the Middle Ages. The morning light reflected a distant camel team coming in. It was so quiet and beautiful. So fascinating. Rich Arabic notes floated in the soothing Russian tunes. People in robes sat around and danced together. The mist was like gauze, the light smoke was like cotton, and wild flowers everywhere swayed, exuding bursts of fragrance. There was no hustle and bustle of the world, no more Depression, no worries, entering a pure and beautiful state. The sun has set, and under the afterglow, the elegant camel caravan disappears into the wilderness...
