"Telephone" Addition and Subtraction of Fractions PPT

Part One: Introduction to the conversation

There are 15 members in a chorus. There is an emergency performance during the summer vacation. The teacher needs to notify every member as soon as possible. If you use a phone call to notify one person every minute, please help the teacher design a phone call plan.

Divide 15 people into 3 groups of 5 people in each group. First call the 3 group leaders, and then the 3 group leaders will notify the 4 group members respectively.

Phone PPT, part 2: exploring new knowledge

I divided the 15 people into four groups, namely 4 people, 4 people, 4 people and 3 people. The first three group leaders notified 3 people respectively, and the fourth group leader notified 2 people.

I divided the 15 people into 5 groups equally. I first notified the 5 group leaders by phone, and then the group leaders notified the 2 team members respectively.

It would save more time if the students who finished the phone call in front are not free and continue to inform other students.

One notification was given in the first minute, two were notified in the second minute, four were notified in the third minute, and eight were notified in the fourth minute. I found that the number of people who received notifications doubled.
