Pronouns are words used to replace nouns. It is an important item in the English grammatical structure and one of the key contents of the high school entrance examination. 1) some and any

a. Whether some and any are singular or plural depends on what they replace. Both some and any can refer to people or things, and can represent countable things and people, as well as uncountable concepts. For example: some (any) books, some (any) money, some people, some water

b. As pronouns, they can serve as subjects and objects in sentences. For example:

There are many people in the park. Some are dancing; others are playing Taijiquan.

c. Some is used in affirmative sentences, while any is used in questions, negative sentences and conditional sentences.

—I am thirsty. Can you give me some water?

—Sorry, I don’t have any. If I have any, I will give you some.

2) none and neither
