1.Science is so interesting!

◆so is an adverb, meaning "such, so". It is used to modify the original level of adjectives or adverbs and express degree. Common usage is as follows:

(1) "so+adjective+a/an+singular noun" is equivalent to "such a/an+adjective+singular noun".

(2) So can be followed by many, much, few and little to express the number of nouns.

(3) so...that... means "so...that...", forming a resultant adverbial clause.

◆Interesting is an adjective, meaning "interesting", indicating that the thing itself contains interesting factors. It can be used as a predicate or attributive to describe things.

[Expansion] Interested is also an adjective, meaning "interested in", indicating a person's feelings about an object. It can be used as a predicate in a sentence and is often used in the fixed phrase be/get interested in "interested in...".

2.Fill the dish half full with water.

Half full with water is an adjective phrase, used as an adverbial in a sentence, expressing the accompanying state.

3.Light the candle.

Light is a verb, meaning "to light up", which can form the phrase light up "light (smoke), illuminate". When the object is a pronoun, it should be placed between light and up. The past tense and past participle of light are lighted/lit, lighted/lit.

[Expansion] (1) When light is used as a noun, it means "light, light".

(2) When light is used as an adjective, it means "light, shallow".

4.Carefully put the jar over the candle until the top of the jar rests on the dish.

Carefully is an adverb, meaning "carefully, conscientiously", and its adjective form is careful, meaning "carefully". Care can be used as a verb, meaning "to care about", or as a noun, meaning "to take care of".

5.When the candle stops burning, it has used up all the oxygen in the air.

Use up means "to use up, to use up" and is a phrase composed of "verb + adverb".
