Description
"Voltage" Simple Circuit PPT Courseware 5
Project main content
Voltage is the cause of the directional movement of ______ to form ______, represented by the symbol ______
Power supply A device that provides ______
The unit of voltage is the international unit: ______ (V). Commonly used units are kilovolts (kV) and millivolts (mV).
When using a voltmeter, the voltmeter should be ______ at both ends of the circuit being measured; the current should flow in from the terminal marked "______" and flow out from the terminal marked "______"; the voltage being measured should not exceed the value of the voltmeter. ______
Voltage relationship between series and parallel circuits
In a parallel circuit, the voltage across each branch______
Correct use of voltmeter
1. The voltmeter should be connected in parallel at both ends of the circuit under test. If a voltmeter is connected in series in a circuit, the circuit is approximately regarded as an open circuit. The voltmeter has an indication, but electrical appliances connected in series with it cannot work.
2. The "+" and "-" terminals must be connected correctly. "Correct" here means that the current flows in from the "+" terminal and flows out from the "-" terminal. If the current flow direction is reversed, the pointer will deflect in the opposite direction, bend the pointer, and damage the voltmeter.
3. The measured voltage cannot exceed the range of the voltmeter, otherwise the voltmeter will be burned out. The method of selecting the measuring range: first, estimate the size of the voltage being measured; second, when the voltage cannot be estimated, use a large range to test the touch.
4. When reading, you should clearly understand the range of the voltmeter used, recognize the minimum scale value of the range used, and read the voltmeter indication from the position pointed by the pointer. Evaluate when necessary.
5. The voltmeter can be directly connected to the positive and negative poles of the power supply. This is different from the ammeter. When the voltmeter is directly connected to the two poles of the power supply, what is measured is the power supply voltage.
[Example] Regarding the use of voltmeters, which of the following statements is correct ()
A. The voltmeter can be connected in parallel with the power supply or with the electrical appliances.
B. The voltmeter is directly connected to both ends of the power supply, which will cause excessive current in the circuit and burn out the voltmeter.
C. When using a voltmeter, if the range is too small, the reading may be inaccurate. If the range is too large, the voltmeter may be burned out.
D. In order to avoid burning out the voltmeter, we should always choose the large range of the voltmeter when using it.
Analysis: When using a voltmeter, as long as the voltage of the circuit under test does not exceed the selected range, the smaller the range, the more accurate the reading. If a large range is selected, although it can be measured, the reading is inaccurate, so C and D are wrong; voltage The meter can directly measure the power supply voltage, so B is wrong.
1. In the International System of Units, the unit of voltage is ()
A.Volt B.Ohm C.Coulomb D.Watt
2. Which of the following statements is correct ()
A. Current can be generated even if there is no power supply in the circuit
B. As long as there is voltage, there must be current in the circuit
C. There is no current in the circuit, and the power supply has no voltage.
D. The power supply is a device that provides voltage in the circuit.
3. The voltage of electricity used in our daily life is ______. For the human body, only voltages no higher than ______ are safe.
4. Use a voltmeter to measure the voltage across the small bulb. Among the four circuits shown in the figure, the correct one is ()
5. When selecting the range of the voltmeter, the correct one is ()
A. Choose a larger range as much as possible
B. When the measured voltage does not exceed the small range after the test touch, choose the small range as much as possible
C. Although the selected ranges are different, it has no impact on the measurement results.
D. In order to make the measurement results more accurate, the smaller the measuring range, the better.
