Original text: The high autumn wind howls in August and rolls up the triple thatch on my house. Mao flies across the river and spreads across the outskirts of the river. The taller ones hang on the forest branches, while the lower ones float around the pond.

Autumn is high: Autumn is deep.

Triple thatch: several layers of thatch. Three means majority.

Tangao: A low-lying place where water accumulates.

Translation:

In the depths of August and autumn, the howling wind swept away several layers of thatch on my roof. The thatch flies across Huanhua Creek and is scattered on the other side of the stream. The high-flying thatch hangs on the high treetops, while the low-flying thatch flutters and sinks to the low-lying water-filled areas.

PPT of the song The Thatched House Was Broken by the Autumn Wind, Part 4: Intensive Reading Taste

1. What is the expressive effect of the word "anger"?

[Answer] The word "anger" personifies the autumn wind, depicts the fierceness of the autumn wind, and implies the author's sadness.

2. What are the expression effects of verbs such as "fly", "cross", "sprinkle", "hang" and "floating around"?

[Answer] This question uses the expression effect analysis method of conjugated verbs. ① Use these verbs to carefully and vividly write about the situation of the wind blowing the thatch, reproducing the process of the autumn wind destroying the house, giving people an immersive feeling; ② The movement of the thatch tightly holds the poet's sight, showing the poet's helplessness Mood.

3. "The wind in a while makes the clouds dark, and the desert turns dark in autumn." What is the role of these two sentences in describing the scenery?

[Answer] This question uses the natural environment description function analysis method. The use of large brushes dipped in thick ink renders a gloomy and melancholy atmosphere, thereby highlighting the poet's desolate state of mind and suggesting that an autumn rain is coming.

4. "The wind in a moment fixes the color of the clouds... How can it be clear if the night is wet?" What kind of thoughts and emotions does the poet express here?

[Answer] "He Youche" echoes the previous "Uncut", which expresses the poet's eagerness to hope that the rain will stop and the dawn will come up. It also expresses the poet's hope that the war will subside soon and the people can live and work in peace and contentment. This series of vivid descriptions profoundly expresses the poet's dual pain in life and spirit.

PPT of the song "The Thatched House Was Broken by the Autumn Wind", Part 5: Study and Research

1. [Difficult Exploration] Du Fu called the group of children holding Mao Mao "thieves". What do you think?

[Answer] A great poet like Du Fu who cared about the country and the people would not really curse a few naughty boys. But why did the poet call it that in the poem? This is related to the poet's mood at that time. First, the thatch hanging on high treetops and falling in low-lying waterlogged places could no longer be retrieved. Those that could be retrieved were carried away by a group of children, which could not help but make the poet extremely anxious. Secondly, this thatch may not matter to the children, but to the poet, it is a matter of livelihood. The ignorant pranks of the children make the poet sad. Thirdly, just because the poet is "old and powerless", he "blatantly throws the straw into the bamboo", which naturally arouses the poet's indignation or sentimentality at that moment. Considering the above situation, it is understandable that the poet said some extreme words. In fact, when the poet described the behavior of the group of children, he only said "holding the grass" instead of "grabbing the grass", which also shows that the author did not really think that they were "thieves".

2. [Difficult Exploration] How to understand Du Fu’s noble character of respecting oneself and others and sacrificing oneself for others and his concern for the country and the people expressed in his poems?

[Answer] Du Fu describes his own pain in this poem, but when we read the last paragraph, we know that he is not describing his own pain in isolation and simply, but by describing his own pain. It expresses the pain of "poor people in the world" to express the suffering of society and the suffering of the times. If you don’t understand the content of his “sigh” deeply when you read “When I came back and leaned on my stick and sighed,” then it’s enough to read “Wow! When I suddenly see this house in front of my eyes, my house will be broken down alone and frozen to death.” , it should be seen that he is not lamenting, losing sleep, or speaking out just because of his own misfortune! On the autumn night when the violent wind and rain struck mercilessly, the poet's mind was not only that "my hut was destroyed alone", but also that the huts of "the poor people in the world" were all destroyed... Du Fu's noble character and ardent sorrow of respecting himself and others, sacrificing himself for others. The sentiment of caring for the country and its people has been inspiring people for thousands of years.

It shows that the poet would rather "break down the house alone" and freeze to death, but also have "tens of thousands of mansions" ", the broad mind and lofty ideals that make "all the poor people in the world happy". It expresses the poet's noble character of respecting himself and others, sacrificing himself for others, and his concern for the country and the people.

Thatched cottage is broken by the autumn wind song PPT, part 7: expansion and extension

Great poets always link their own destiny with the destiny of their nation and country, breathing with them and sharing their fate. The famous literary critic Belinsky once said: "The reason why any great poet is great is because their pain and happiness are deeply rooted in the soil of society and history. They are the organs and representatives of society, the times, and mankind." In this poem, Du Fu did not simply write about his own suffering, but reflected the misfortune of the times through personal misfortune. On this autumn night when the storm struck mercilessly, the poet expressed his concern for himself and others, and his thoughts of concern for the country and the people came to life on the page, deeply touching generations of readers. In fact, Du Fu is not the only one who has this great idea?

From Qu Yuan, who "lamented the hardships of people's livelihood", to Bai Juyi, who "wish there would be no hunger and cold in the world" after Du Fu, from Fan Zhongyan, who "worried first and then rejoiced", to Lu You, who "did not dare to worry about the country despite his humble position", from "The Rise and Fall of the World" , Gu Yanwu who "every man has his duty", to Tan Sitong who "I am smiling at the sky with my horizontal sword", from Lu Xun who "I recommend Xuanyuan with my blood", to Zhou Enlai who "studies for the rise of China", millions of Chinese people intellectuals who have always carried on such a fine tradition. They think about the world and pursue the noblest and most perfect ideal. It is this kind of thinking and this tradition that allows us to see the flash of humanity, the future of the nation, and the hope of mankind!
